-- About Us --

The Aboriginal Catholic Ministry is part of the general work of ministry by the Sydney Archdiocese.

It is funded by the Charitable Works Fund, and has 2 full-time, and 4 part-time staff, as well as 2 Sisters and a Priest Assisting.

The ACM has been commissioned by the Sydney Archdiocese to promote Reconciliation, to work for mutual understanding between people, and help put an end to racism and prejudice.

The ACM is also commissioned to minister to those in need, to work to heal those who have been hurt especially the Stolen Generation, and to take responsibility for the pastoral care of Catholic Aborigines, and to minister to, and support them in the living of their Faith.

We support all aboriginal people of all faiths in every way we can. From its small beginnings in St Mary's Parish based in the presbytery, the Aboriginal Catholic Ministry now operates from 4 centers Redfern, Alexandria/Waterloo, La Perouse and Picton.
