Australian Retreat Directory
- A Quiet Place
This is the fourth edition of A Quiet Place, a revision of the
work originally published in print form in 1995, and then on the Internet
in 2000, revised in 2001. The work has
been
a valuable
resource for the many people in Australia seeking spiritual refreshment.
We are grateful to those who have provided information for this directory,
especially those who invite us to their spiritual sanctuaries. In a world
that is all too frequently over-busy and distracted, it is important
that A Quiet Place reflect the common yearning of us
all for inner peace.
We offer our heartfelt thanks to those who were
originally responsible for the original idea and previous updates of
A Quiet Place:
Julie Fewster, Deborah Cooke,
Caroline Jones and Annette
Smith; Br Regis Hickey cfc and Helen Ransom.
For all travellers on the journey, my prayer is that this Internet site
will help you find your quiet place.

Searching Retreat Centres in
A Quiet
Place
The scope of the directory has been greatly expanded and transferred to
a database, which now means you can search for a retreat centre using a
range
of criteria.
You can also simply browse through each State or Region and then click to
find out more about the centre that you are interested in.
Please note: Catholic Communications provides this directory of Retreat
Centres as a service to the Australian Church. All centres have been included
in good faith, as being centres that offer the possibility of a retreat
within the Catholic tradition. Centres have been included on the basis
of inclusion within The Official Directory of the Catholic Church in
Australia,
2003.
However, inclusion in the directory does not imply that either Catholic
Communications, nor the Catholic
Archdiocese of Sydney, officially endorses
the retreat venue or any of the activities that may take place at the centre
from time to time.
Another resource that may be of interest to NSW residents is a directory
of Retreat and
Conference Centres offered by the NSW Catholic Education Commission - this is mainly for school/youth groups. |
